Pax Mahle, "The Bench Vineyards" Vermentino, California, 750mL Pinot Gouges even as horses churn and100% Vermentino made from whole cluster press with minimal intervention in the Chai makes for an intriguingly savory and a tad funky yet bright wine of distinction and weight, which still remains refreshing and pert. Great with herby, late summer pastas or vegetarian meals. Pax is committed to micro production and this single vineyard offering, raised in concrete, is no exception. Grab them while the getting is good.
