What we have here is a very nice example of a Danish Model 1853 66 Bayonet, intended for use on the Danish short 1853 66 Snider Naval Rifle. These rifles were originally muzzle loaders, but were converted at Copenhagen Arsenal to the Snider breech loading system. These rifles were then replaced by the Remington Rolling
